GitHub Finder is a small React app. You type a GitHub username and it shows that person’s profile. It was my first React project, made in 2022 to practise JavaScript and working with an API.

What it shows

The profile card has the avatar, the name, the username, the date the account was created and the bio. Below it are the number of repositories, followers and accounts followed, then the location, the website, the Twitter account and the company. A switch in the header changes between a light and a dark theme.

How it is built

The app is written with React 18 and built with Vite. Axios calls the public GitHub API, and Moment formats the date. The theme is kept in a React context. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages.
